– If a structure is built without permits, state law allows the removal of the structure at the cost of the landowner. The township does not wish to do this. When in doubt, please call us to ask!
– All Zoning Permits now require a copy of the DEED of the property that improvements are being made on. 
– All permits need an ADDRESS for issuing. Please see the township secretary if you don’t have one. 

***If you are applying for a Building, Zoning, Driveway, Paving, or Sign Permit, you need to fill out Penn Township’s General Permit Application along with the other required applications below.

Do I need a Building Permit? A Building Permit is required for the construction of new buildings, additions, and some repairs/alterations within the home. If you are in a floodplain, please put that information on the application.

Zoning Permit

Do I need a Zoning Permit? A Zoning Permit is required when any new structure is put on a property, or use of the property is changed. All Zoning Permits now require a copy of the DEED of the property that improvements are being made on.

Driveway Permit

Do I need a Driveway Permit? A Driveway Permit is required when you wish to place a new driveway on your property. 

Paving Permit

Do I need a Paving Permit?
 A Paving Permit is required when you go from a dirt or gravel driveway to a paved driveway, or if you are repaving your existing driveway. This is to ensure that the driveway ties into the road properly and the swale is maintained for stormwater functions.

Do I need a Sign Permit? A Sign Permit is required for all new signs, when one business leaves and another comes in, or a business changes its name. 

Peddler’s Permit

Do I need a Peddler’s Permit? A Peddler’s Permit is required for individuals wishing to sell anything door to door. No permit is required for school fundraisers.
